“I remembered that the real world was wide, and that a varied field of hopes and fears, of sensations and excitements, awaited those who had the courage to go forth into its expanse, to seek real knowledge of life amidst its perils.”-Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
Hi! I’m Sarah, the person behind this site. I have been online with the domain ReciprocalWaltz.org since 2012. There was no real meaning behind the domain name ReciprocalWaltz.org – I just liked the sound of the two words together.
In late 2020 I totally revamped the site, and needed a new domain name for the new site. I go by “serabi” on many social media sites – hence, serabi.me!
I have worked in the tech field since 2011. My current job is as a lead of a team of Happiness Engineers at Automattic, but in the past I’ve also worked for BlogHer/SheKnows, and before that, as a virtual assistant.
In January 2019 I was diagnosed with Stage 2B breast cancer. The diagnosis and subsequent treatment has drastically changed my life, but I’m happy to say I’m currently NED.
On a lighter note, I also love talking about my favorite things! In no particular order, those are cross stitching, reading, travel, techie stuff, and board games. I’m an Apple product addict. I’m also currently a sucker for TV shows like The Good Place, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Last Tango in Halifax, and For All Mankind. Oh, and I play too much Animal Crossing and Civ VI. Lately I’ve also started getting addicted to Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, and also dabbling a bit in Stardew Valley.
